tl;dr: There are a couple more events, entirely optional, that will also be taking place around the Wedding Weekend, on Saturday evening and Monday daytime.
We’re so excited to be celebrating with all of you — and we’d love to make the most of our time together.
Beyond the main events on Sunday, we’re also planning a couple of extra gatherings for anyone who’ll be around before or after the big day.
Everything is relaxed and completely optional — come to as much or as little as you like. And for guests staying at Rasa Sayang, we’ll be arranging transport to and from both events.
Saturday 13 December • Evening | At Siqi’s home (19 Solok Midlands)
The night before the wedding, join us for 留厅夜 (laǒ tiǎ méh / liú tīng yè) — a Hokkien and Teochew tradition marking the final night before marriage.
Traditionally for the bride, we’re making it our own: both of us will take part in simple blessings and rituals together, including the hair combing ceremony and sharing glutinous rice balls for sweetness and unity.
We’ll have food, good company, and a relaxed space to gather, chat, and witness the moment if you’d like.
All are welcome — come as you are!
Please meet at the Shangri-La Rasa Sayang Hotel by 6.55pm for transport to Siqi’s home or if you are heading there directly, please arrive at Siqi’s home by 7.30pm.
Monday 15 December • All Day | Around Penang Island
To wrap up the weekend, we’re planning a relaxed day out for anyone who’s still in town. With many of our guests visiting Penang for the first time — or returning after years away — we’d love to explore together and share some of our favourite places.
